Yanks v Tigers (10-06-2006) Let's get it on. Just for starter's, what is going to be the worst move of the game beside the two starting pitchers (Randy Johnson v Kenny Rogers)?
Whoa!!!! No more digs on Army football until they lose to VMI tomorrow...who am I kidding...they could use Blanchard and Davis as they are now (and one of them is dead).
We know Joe Morgan is a moron, but has Torre's brain been replaced with a marshmellow? The Yanks couldn't find a healthy pitcher to throw five or six innings tonight? Instead we have acrappy Johnson at 80-85%!
You know, if Torre played the infield back against Gonzales in Game 7, 2001, the NYYs might have won the last 8 WS... but they might not win another one now for some time... No Braves and no Red Sox this year... no NYY next?
I loved Miller 5-10 yrs ago. Torre was asked if he could do anything different after the 2001 WS and his response was " Play them half-way" as opposed to actually playing them in. Waldman is Horrible. Coming back from dinner tonight (we had a free non-family babysitter) I switched from WABC to WEPN to NOT listen to Sterling,who was fantastic at one time, and Waldman. btw, Waldman was a great reporter but is awful in the booth.
OK, so we're down 2-1. No big deal. .....who am I kidding? The Tiggers are playing with all the confidence in the World, and the Yankme's....well, they're just a LITTLE flat! We can only hope for the best.
I agree, down 2-1 is no big deal. If you lose game 4...well, then you suck and shouldn't be there anyway.
RE: McGarver and (the previously unmetioned) Buck...well they OBVIOUSLY own some heinous(sp) inside info on the powers that be at FOX because they are possibly the worst tandem in decades. Thank God for cc whenever they are the booth guys. I would rather lose part of the screen than listen to them.
NYPD gave Morgan an escort on Wednesday from Shea to the Stadium. Don't we all know enough NYPD guys to make sure the escort never made it to 161st St? I would like to think so.
